In this month’s Employee Spotlight, we sit down with Rosa Romero, Associate at RSG! Rosa was born in El Salvador and came to the U.S. as an infant. She grew up and spent most of her life in Los Angeles, specifically South Gate, CA. In 2007, she joined RSG and is now accountable for the administration and monitoring of over 6,000 affordable housing units.

She’s always enjoyed working and helping others in her career though. During Rosa’s time as a loan processor, she was processing a home loan for borrowers who were receiving funding from their city’s home buyer assistance program. She became interested in further helping her community and forged the next direction of her career path. In an attempt to work with these types of programs, she was luckily led to discover that RSG was hiring for a housing position, where the responsibilities included assisting local governments in pre-underwriting loans for first time home buyers.

What I enjoy most about working for RSG is the variety of work and clients we have. There’s always so much to learn, and changes occur so fast, but I’m happy to roll up my sleeves and jump in.”

Rosa is a Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), Tax Credit Specialist (TCS), and a Blended Occupancy Specialist (BOS). She oversees the requirements for 150 City and Agency assisted multi-family projects for the State. Rosa is fluent in Spanish and provides Spanish-language translation services, and her primary duties at RSG are project management, loan program administration, interfacing with clients, and conducting compliance reporting. What a powerhouse!

Outside of work, Rosa enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves watching her boys play sports, having date nights with her husband, and walking her cute goldendoodle dog, Ahsoka. Summer is also her favorite season because of all the swimming and fun short road trips with her family.

We appreciate Rosa’s care and commitment to her clients and genuine desire to help others. Keep shining your light!
