RSG completed a detailed review of two federal funding sources available for emergency rental assistance for Orange County Community Resources in January 2021. The purpose of the evaluation was to see what eligible uses of the Emergency Rental Assistance Program and Community Development Block Grant are to potential tenants who, as a result of the financial hardships caused by COVID-19, are struggling to meet their monthly rent obligations. The evaluation confirmed that the funding sources were eligible uses for tenants facing hardship due to COVID-19. RSG prepared a memorandum with the findings of the evaluation and the potential next steps for selection and approval of eligible applicants. RSG was projected to assist in the application process and selection of tenants, however, the County did not move forward with the ERAP, thus RSG’s assistance had been discontinued on the project as of June 2021.
